Haute couture: Gabriela Hearst new creative director to Chloé

Chloé's new creative director is Gabriela Hearst (Gabriela Hirst) New York-based designer, known for its elegant and ecological collections……

Gabriela Hearst succeeds Natacha Ramsay-Levi (Natasha Ramsey Levy), whose departure from the French house of luxury clothing and accessories was announced last week.

Hearst will present its first collection in March and will remain the creative director of its eponymous brand.

Her success with bags and specifically her style “Nina” came at a time when limited new designs were emerging – made her a top nominee for Chloé, who developed significant activity in accessories under the guidance of the former chief designer, Claire White Keller.

The designer will also bring the practice of sustainability to Chloé, as fashion consumers increasingly seek to buy sustainable designs and want to know the ecological footprint left by their shopping habits, report fashion news sites.
