Safe Tanning: Beware of the sun!! Dermatologists recommend safe tanning without burns, to those who go on vacation, but also to those who are already on the beaches!!

According to dermatologists, exposure to the sun without precautions can cause a slight to very serious burn, depending on skin type, the duration of sun exposure and the intensity of solar radiation.
The burn may occur on parts exposed to the sun, back, feet but even on the ears and lips. It is presented even on cloudy days, as until the 80% of UV rays passes through clouds.

Symptoms – Forms of Burns

The symptoms depend on the degree of the sunburn. They appear after sudden and reckless exposure to the sun without protective measures.
The most characteristic are:
  • simple local redness
  • edema
  • blistering and severe pain
  • chills
  • fever
  • motion sickness
  • headache
  • symptoms of infection
  • peeling, even scars after 4-7 days from the report
  • skin rash
There are two levels in which sunburns are classified:
1u degree:Redness of the skin accompanied by burning and mild pain, a few hours after sun exposure.
2u degree:Intense redness accompanied by swelling and blisters.

Relief Measures

  • rinse the area with plenty of cold water
  • move away from the sun by going to a shaded or closed place and avoid exposure for the next few days
  • wipe with clean gauze, without rubbing the blistered area
  • drinks plenty of fluids (sugarless) to avoid dehydration
  • place cold compresses on the burn sites
  • apply soothing creams and then moisturizers to avoid itching and peeling
  • do not wear tight or synthetic clothing.
In case he has symptoms of 2u degree should IMMEDIATELY visit a dermatologist who may even recommend hospitalization".

Safe Tanning without Burns

To achieve a safe tan without burns you should, according to dermatologists, to:
  • avoid direct exposure to the sun 11.00 – 16.00.
  • always use sunscreen with an SPF >30 SPF and according to skin type, to renew it at least every two hours, but also after getting out of the water even if the sunscreen is waterproof
  • uses sunscreen when sitting under an umbrella or tree, as well as the sand, and the sea reflect more than half of the sun's radiation
  • uses glasses, hat and long sleeve shirt – but always with the use of sunscreen
  • Uses broad-spectrum UVA+UVB sunscreens
Those with light skin types should be more careful, red or blonde hair, family history of melanoma, or have been exposed to sunlight enough, especially during childhood.
