Justin Timberlake / Things get in high speed for JT's new solo music.
In a concert in his hometown, Memphis, Friday night (19 January), Justin Timberlake presented live the new song “Selfish” – his first new solo material after his fifth studio album, the “Man of the Woods” of 2018.
“So if I get jealous, I can’t help it/ I want every bit of you, I guess I’m selfish”, JT sings in silky soft r&B track (Listen to an excerpt in the video below in Tiktok). “It's bad for my psychology, But I can't fight it”.
And it's not just that: also, Friday night, Timberlake presented a trailer for his sixth album along with the official title of the project: That I thought it was. This comes after pop star teaser on Instagram on Wednesday with the caption “Flight”, driving fans in a hunting of Easter eggs to decode the acronym.
The album trailer has a kind of wes Anderson, Asteroid City vibe, with a car model driving to a desert gas station. It also has an A-List narrator, τον Benicio del Toro.
“What do we have here;” says Del Toro as he opens the video. “Nice car! Waited for, is a model. Does this say JT; Ok, This sunset is definitely not true. To be Justin! Because he doesn't turn around; What the hell is looking at;”
The trailer – which you can watch below – ends with yellow words on a black screen that they write: “Justin Timberlake Presents: Timberlake Timberlake: Everything I Thought It Was”.
