World Tourism Day 2023 – Christos Veronis: "Yes to healthy tourism with profits and dignity for all"
“World Tourism Day today, 27 September”
We in Mykonos would have many reasons to celebrate it a little more, if we were not experiencing an unprecedented depreciation of our country in the last decade.
And I wonder, learning that this year the World Day is dedicated to "green" investments:
What has the outgoing municipal authority done so that the beautiful natural landscape of our island is protected and at the same time the economic development of Mykonos;
The question is rhetorical since Mykonians experience it in their daily lives: almost nothing, to be lenient.
That's why on 8 October, we say "no" to giving up, we say "yes to healthy tourism with profits and dignity for all".
After all, let's not forget what the Swiss writer Alain de Botton wrote and let's make sure to put it into practice:
"The journey expresses an attempt to turn the dream into reality".
