Fashion house Balenciaga has created a limited edition bag in collaboration with Danish audio label Bang & Olufsen, which he describes as “partial bag, partly bluetooth audio system”.
The Speaker bag, which was presented at the 51st Balenciaga fashion show in Paris, can be used as a portable speaker or as a traditional wallet.
Materiality was given to the concept of sound art by two houses with a long history in aesthetic pursuits, one in the field of fashion and the other in the field of audio player design.
The decades-old heritage fashion house Balenciaga has teamed up with the Danish house Bang & Olufsen – known to those who seek’ home music enjoyment as the top, aesthetically, audio player designer – to present 'The Speaker Bag', a portable audio device that doubles as a bag.
For the 51st Couture Collection of the fashion house, the two brands drew from the styles and sculpting of Balenciaga's bags and each piece was prepared at the Factory 5 of B&O in Struer, Denmark from a solid block of aluminum where its special finish was perfected over several days.
