40 Ideas Deco Styling, for Libraries!!

It happens to you that you try to tidy up your library and fail to decorate it decently? Work for hours and yet the result is disappointing? Or empty shelves, or stuffed with things, that with nothing to match each other?……

There are several ways to style a library, But let's look at some basic steps.

First collect everything, empty the shelves and start over.

If the library has a bad back or sees a wall, consider painting it in a bright color or applying some wallpaper. It will give a very nice result.

To save money you can make a nice stencil on the back.

Dispose of your material. Stone your heart and admit that some books (preferably the worst) you are never going to read them. So do them a favor and give them away. Check the rest if the paper cover comes out (in the hard), sometimes the interior is usable.

Distinguish books and decorations by size, object and color.

We start placing books on the shelves. Some groups will enter vertically and others horizontally. The variety is highly recommended so as not to have a boring result. Keep in mind that tall books usually look better horizontally (they also function as bookstores).

Personally, I prefer book groups to be strongly thematic. First I put it this way and then if an aesthetic problem arises I can make some compromises and make moves.

If your books are very different from each other and in eye-catching colors, an idea (a bit masochistic) is to dress them with paper of your choice. You will get tired but the result will reward you. So books “So books” So books!

If you are bored or do not have the sewing machine find bro, one suggestion is to turn the books by the pages. But this way you will not know which book is which, so this solution is recommended only to those who do not nurture the best feelings for literature.

When placing the books, make sure to leave some space for decorative objects. Libraries are not just for books, items are also needed, things that interest us, we love and collect for years.

You can use artwork (small sculptures and canvases), ceramics, candles and candlesticks, various collections, vases and picture frames.

The latter need attention, should be tied together and used sparingly, otherwise the end result may be spoiled.

We start by placing the largest decorations and scatter them on the shelves in such a way that there is a balance of sizes and volumes.

Then we place the middle and at the end the small ones. It needs a lot of attention here, because small objects tend to create clutter, So books “So books” So books.

So we do tests even when we are not sure about some small items, we remove them by trying some bigger ones in their place and we see what we like best.

We make sure to take advantage of the entire depth of the shelf because it gives perspective and therefore more interesting visual effect. In other words, we can place a frame, photo or canvas in the background and other decorative items further ahead.

Frames and paintings are a nice solution to hide some unsightly books.

If your bookcase is made of plasterboard or has wide side partitions you can nail small boards on them.

Horizontally placed books turn into beautiful display cases for decorative objects. Whatever you put up there will be displayed much better.

Here I will point out the importance of the color and material of the decorations. There are two ways of styling. Either we choose to group the similar ones or to scatter them in a balanced way throughout the library. I usually prefer grouping, that is, to make compositions from similar decorations. Similar in design, material or color.

Some objects have a stronger presence as a group than when eaten by loneliness. But if there are many and they are lost, consider being shown in groups.

Note that groups of objects look best when alone (unnecessary) number, namely 3 or 5. This does not mean that on every shelf you will have from 3 decorative together, play a little.

Another important point is the contrast. If you have a white bookcase and lots of light decorations know that they will be lost. You may want to consider painting the back of the bookcase or gluing wallpaper.

For ugly things and all sorts of trifles a great solution is the boxes.

Wicker, leather, metal or paper, mobilize them to decorate the shelves and get rid of chatty little things.

If you have some magazines or badly thin books you can use the appropriate boxes to place them without being seen. Of course the boxes must be the same color.

I believe that the styling of the library should include objects and books that show our personality, the interests we have, our collections, things we like and love. For me my library is the most important part of the house.

Every once in a while take a few steps back and check the result. How the objects stand, if more weight or color falls somewhere and keep making corrections until you are happy with the result. If you see a color that stands out in a part of the library, remove it or try to put something similar in other places to get balance.

Take breaks to clear your head and have a fresher look. Enjoy it!! The goal is a result that will not look set and cliché. It seems like you did it effortlessly (haha … here we laugh!)

So do not shove in that idiot you have left over or they gave you (that's why we have the basements).

Put things you love, that hide good memories and in the end if they do not fit hide some and alternate them.
