Saint Laurent’s “Summer of “21”: Charlotte Rampling in Saint Laurent's "Summer of '21"

The British actress, model and singer Charlotte Rampling makes a mysterious appearance in an interesting new movie for the fashion house Saint Laurent……..

The arthouse video "Summer of '21", commissioned by Saint Laurent's creative director, Anthony Vaccarello and directed by Gaspar Noe, immerses the viewer in a dream world, bathed in a red, cloudy, velvety light, reminiscent of the years of giallo glory (kind of Italian literary works and films, which first appeared in the 20th century).

The Rampling, which is depicted as a mysterious haunted priestess, seems to admire herself in a mirror in a dimly lit dressing room wearing a dress with feathers. An instrumental rendition of Donna Summer's disco success, "I Feel Love" by Sebastian is heard in the background.

The eight-minute video shows Rampling being surrounded by models walking and relaxing in different rooms painted red. The film ends with the models applauding the priestess on stage, which is covered with rose petals.

The atmosphere is "reminiscent of the first boutiques of Saint Laurent Rive Gauche of the 1960s," according to the house's press release for the film..
