Halima Aden says goodbye to the catwalks as she has been troubled by the way she has been presented by the fashion industry……….
The 23-year-old model shared a series of photos from her childhood, from the fashion campaigns she participated in and for which she said she felt pressured, as she had to reconcile her religious beliefs, that is, her decision to wear the hijab and her career. Aden, is Somali American, Muslim, who left Kenya as a child and grew up in Minnesota.
"I wish I never stopped wearing my black hijab," she wrote under a photo of herself in stories she uploaded to her personal Instagram account.. "It simply came to our notice then… let's say I was very carried away ".
"But… this is not even my style. It never was. Because I allowed them to wear jeans on my head, when until then I wore only skirts and long dresses ", wrote in a photo from the American Eagle campaign, in which he participated.
