Research on sunscreens, published in the journal "Proceedings of the National Academy of Science"…..
it overturns what we knew until now!!
Coffee is ideal for protecting the skin from the sun, while, alongside, also reduces damage caused by UV radiation, according to what the researchers found.
As part of their study, the researchers collaborated with 90.000 women.
As found out, the subjects who received even small amounts of caffeine daily, were appearing 5% fewer skin cancers!!
This protection arises, as caffeine competes with a skin enzyme, called "ATR" and regulates cell division, causing radiation-damaged cells to die.
Under other circumstances, these cells would become cancerous.
Sure, the researchers note that these effects are not present when the coffee is decaffeinated.
